CFDCU Mobile App
Where Do I Get the App?
Search for CFDCU Mobile in the Apple App Store.
OK, I've Downloaded the App. Now What?
Now you must "activate" the app. Activation is just a way to make sure that the application that's trying to access your information is legitimate. Basically, the app asks for access and must be given permission, by you, in order to work.
Activation can be done two ways:
The first way, and the one we recommend, is called Online Activation. This involves logging in to HomeTeller and selecting your device from a list
The second way, Email Activation, involves sending you an email that contains an Authentication Code. Once you have this code, you would enter it into the app
Important Note – If you use email activation, you must have a "Security Contact" email on our system. And you must have access to that email account in order to receive the activation code
Also, a security contact is good to have since it enables you to reset your HomeTeller password if you get locked out when the credit union isn't open
If you want to verify or set up a security contact email address, just come by or give us a call
If you have already chosen the email method, and have run into problems, you should be able to start over and try the online method. In other words, you are not completely tied to one method or the other with this process. However, our advice is to always choose the online method, it just makes everything much easier. Since the online method is the easiest, let's start there.
Online Activation
You will need to be able to log in to HomeTeller, so make sure you have a computer with internet access before you begin.
OK. Let's get started.
Download and install the app
Once installed, open the app and enter your usual HomeTeller username and password
You will come to a screen asking you to choose an activation method. Choose Online
Your phone should show you a Device ID, Device Name, and a Continue button
The "Device ID" is what HomeTeller uses to identify the device it is trying to connect
The "Device Name" is a way to label the device so that you can recognize it later. This can be changed to something you recognize, such as "My iPhone." It's not necessary to change this, just know that you can if you want to
On your computer, log in to HomeTeller
Look to the top left of the screen and you will see three horizontal lines. Click these lines to open a menu
Select "Device Management" from the list
This page has two sections. Look in the "Devices" section and you should see a new device with a device name and date that matches the device you are trying to activate
Find your device in the list and click "Register" and then click back to your Accounts page
Back on your phone (or tablet), you should be able to click "Continue" and the app will go to your account. If not, back out of the app and try to log in again
Once you click the "Activate" button it doesn't take long to take effect, perhaps a few seconds, but it isn't instant.
Email Activation
The email method is similar to the online method except that you will be given an "Authentication Code" that must be entered into your device. If you choose this method, remember that you must have a security contact email address on our system. This is how our HomeTeller knows where to send the code. As mentioned above, if you don't have a security contact on file, you can give us a call and we can help you with getting one set up.
Download and install the app
Once installed, open the app and enter your HomeTeller username and password
You will come to a screen asking you to choose an activation method. Choose Email
Your phone should show you a Device ID, Email Name, Device Name, and Continue button
The "Device ID" is what HomeTeller uses to identify the device trying to connect
The "Email Name" is your security contact email. These have labels like "Work" or "Home." If you have more than one, you will select the one you have access to now
The "Device Name" is a way to label the device so that you can recognize it later. This can be changed to something you recognize, such as "My iPhone." It's not necessary to change this, just know that you can if you want
Click Continue
On your computer, log in to the email address you selected above and look for the email containing the authentication code. This may take a few minutes to arrive. If it seems like it's taking a long time to arrive, make sure it didn't get sent to your SPAM folder
Once you have the code, enter it into the device and click Continue
Your phone should then go to your account
Delete a Device
If you lose your phone or no longer use it, you should deactivate it.
To do this:
Log in to HomeTeller
Go to Services
Go to Device Activation
Find the appropriate device and click the Deactivate button
This device will no longer be able to connect to your account via the application. As always, if you have a problem, give us a call.
